Not at all. Our coaching covers everyone from first-timers to experienced surfers. Most guests have never surfed before, and that's part of the beauty — the ocean is a great equalizer.
What is Holy Yoga?
Holy Yoga is Christ-centered yoga that replaces Sanskrit terms with Scripture. It's gentle, meditative movement anchored in the Word of God. Sessions are led by certified Holy Yoga instructors and are appropriate for all fitness levels.
Is this a mission trip?
No — it's a retreat. While Day 6 includes a community service component (Give Back Day), the primary focus is your spiritual growth, rest, and encounter with God through surfing, scripture, and community.
What denomination is Surf + Soul?
We're non-denominational. Our foundation is Christ-centered and scripture-based. We welcome all Christians and anyone curious about faith. Our worship, devotionals, and Soul Sessions are rooted in the Bible, not any specific church tradition.
What's included in the price?
Everything. Accommodations, all meals, surf coaching, Holy Yoga (twice daily), the Morning Canvas Ritual, the guided Surfboard Workshop with a local artisan, Soul Sessions, Give Back Day, your hand-painted Scripture Rock, your canvas, your wooden surfboard, airport transfers, and a group highlight video. Commission tier adds pre-retreat preparation videos, a personal highlight video, a 12-week post-retreat journey, and priority rebooking.
Where are the retreats held?
All retreats take place at Mandla Oceanfront Retreat, a private beachfront property in El Tránsito, León, Nicaragua. Eight casitas, an open-air rancho, ocean-view yoga deck, pool, and a beginner-friendly beach break steps from your door.
How many people per retreat?
Maximum 12 guests per week. This keeps the experience intimate and ensures personal attention in surf coaching, Soul Sessions, and community building.
What's the Scripture Rock ceremony?
On Day 7, each guest receives a hand-painted river stone inscribed with the scripture verse that spoke to them most deeply during the week. The group gathers on the beach for a closing worship circle where each person is prayed over and commissioned. It's the most powerful moment of the week.

What should I bring?
Sunscreen, a Bible, a journal, comfortable clothes, and an open heart. We provide all surf equipment, towels, and yoga mats. A detailed packing list is sent 30 days before your retreat.
